HAMPTON, N.H. – Teresa Elaine MacLeod, formerly of Brewer, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, while a resident of Partridge House. Terry was born March 12, 1926, in Houlton, the daughter of Fred and Elsi (Smart) Langley. She grew up in Houlton and attended Machias Normal School. After graduation, she met her husband, John MacLeod and they were married in 1947. Terry devoted her life as a homemaker and supportive mate to John, who ended his career as a college professor at the University of Maine – Presque Isle. Upon his retirement, John and Terry moved to Brewer. Terry lived there until 2004, when she relocated to New Hampshire. Survivors include her son, Daniel of New Castle, N.H., who will miss her dearly, as will her daughter-in-law, Kathy of Dover, N.H. She is further survived by three loving grandchildren, who she and John adored, Allison M. Krenn and husband, William, of Carmel, N.Y., Lindsey C. MacLeod and Lauren MacLeod both of Dover, N.H.; her loving brother, Richard Langley of Abbott. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 2000; sister-in-law, Ethel in 2005; and her brother, Fred Langley Jr. A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth, N.H. Friends may visit 2-4 p.m. before the service. A spring burial is planned in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, where three generations of MacLeod’s lie in rest.
