GUILFORD – Thelma A. Cookson, 98, wife of the late John C. Cookson, died Dec. 6, 2006, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born May 1, 1908, in Parkman, the daughter of George and Jennie (Huff) Greeley. Mrs. Cookson was the holder of the Boston Post Gold Cane in Guilford. She enjoyed attending antique car meets and riding in parades with her son, Lyle, with whom she had made her home. She is survived by her son, Lyle of Guilford; a son-in-law, Richard Boss of Dover-Foxcroft; six grandchildren, Lyla Mosinskis and her children, Colby and Jordan, Lyle J. Cookson and his children, Lyle and Sarah, Steven Boss and his children, Hannah, Sara and Zachary, Michael Boss and his children, Adam and Brienne, Paul Boss and his children, Justine and Kristen and Calvin Boss and his daughter, Kelsey; one great-granddaughter, Lauren; a niece, Beverly Meservey; and two nephews, Norman Meservey and Ted Mountain and his wife, Jean. She was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Boss. Graveside services in the family lot at Lawn Cemetery, Guilford, will be announced in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
