PORTAGE LAKE – Thomas B. Holmes, 68, died Dec. 10, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Togus. He was born April 30, 1936, at Portage Lake, the son of Raymond A. and Madeline T. (Bragdon) Holmes. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW, Le-Blanc-Junkins Post 9699 of Ashland. In addition to his mother of Portage Lake, Tom is survived by one daughter, Deborah Parsley of Holmen, Wis.; one son, Thomas Holmes Jr. of Deltona, Fla.; one brother, James Holmes of Winterport; two sisters, Joanne Satterfield of Missouri and Beth Bell of Florida; eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Homes; and two brothers, Wendell Holmes in 1985 and Raynold Holmes in 1995. Relatives and friends may call at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, from 3 p.m. until time of service on Thursday. A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. at the funeral home, Thursday with Pastor Patricia Ferguson officiating. Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
