CARIBOU – Thomas E. Wright 84, died Nov. 26, 2003, at Caribou. He was born Sept. 18, 1919, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, the son of Justus and Ruby (Murchison) Wright. At the age of 18 he began his own trucking company, which he ran until 1942. He then spent a year as a locomotive fireman with the C.N.R in Edmundston. In 1943, Mr. Wright began his farming career in Canada. In 1946, he moved to Caribou where he grew and shipped certified seed and table stock potatoes for a number of years. On Nov. 4, 1947, Thomas married Margaret Tardiff. He later moved to Connecticut where he was a construction foreman for eight years. He then became the commercial building job supervisor for the Frank E. Down Construction Co. in New Britain. Retiring in 1980, he and Margaret returned to Caribou. Mr. Wright was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lou Hill of Stafford Springs, Conn.; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Tomlinson of Temple, Texas; a grandson, Robert Tomlinson and his wife, Cathy, of Austin, Texas; one granddaughter, Debra Ann Beach and her husband, Greg, of Moody, Texas; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Justus E, Wright and his wife, Kathleen, of Aroostook, New Brunswick and Robert Wright and his wife, June, of Fort Fairfield; four sisters, Leona Marshman of Ontario, Elva Targon and her husband, Tony, and Adeline Fruitt and her husband, Leon, all of Spring Hill, Fla., and Carolyn Goodine and her husband, Haley, of Perth Andover, N.B.; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Wright was predeceased by his wife, Margaret in 2000; a stepson, Robert Tomlinson in 1982; two brothers, Gilbert and Emery; and a sister Avis. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of services Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
