WINTERPORT – Timothy Ernest Clements, 62, husband of Meredith (Tuttle) Clements, went home to be with his Lord, May 25, 2004, while at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 25, 1942, in Winterport, the son of Theodore E. and Grace (Knowles) Clements. Tim attended Winterport Schools, Winterport High School and graduated from Glen Cove Christian Academy. He also attended Elohim Bible College for three years and Bangor Community College. He had lived in Winthrop and Mt. Vernon before moving back to Winterport in 1983, and worked for Cianbro Corporation in heavy equipment construction. Timothy was a member and trustee of the Church of the Open Door and was involved in Promise Keepers of the church, he was also a minister of the Gospel and married many of his nieces, nephews and family members. While in Winthrop, he was active with the Winthrop Volunteer fire Department. He was also a member of the Maine Action Coalition. Tim was always fun loving and enjoyed jokes and was a prankster. The years have shown us the depth of your character and your love for God, which enabled you to live above your limitations and sometimes suffering, but you always maintained a good spirit of happiness which you shared so willingly with others and brighten the lives of all who came in contact with you. (James 1:12) He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 21 years, Meredith of Winterport; his children, Nan Lindholm of Monmouth, Timothy Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Readfield, Bonnie Hodgson of Waterville, Dale Bailey of Columbus, Ohio, Dwayne Bailey and his wife, Amy, of North Andover, Mass., Glenn Clements-Bailey of Bangor, Roland Pease and his wife, Grace, of Augusta, Linda Farrington and her husband, Dan, of West Farmington, and Darlene Steele and her husband, Matt, of Winthrop; his twin brother, Thomas E. Clements and his wife, Sue, of Monmouth, George Clements and his wife, Jeanne, of Newburgh, and Florence Brown and her husband, Ashley, of Swanville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Theodore Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Lockhart. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A service to celebrate Timothy’s life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Open Door (Main Road North, Hampden), with the Rev. Mark Fowler, pastor officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Dixon and Dr. Henry Atkins for all of their special care and kindness shown to Timothy and his family.
