ORONO and PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Vernon R. Nason, 93, of Orono, has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Dec. 8, 2006, at his residence in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Vernon was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Monticello. He was the son of the late George Wilmot Nason and Jesse Murphy Nason of Monticello. He was one of 15 children, survived by three half brothers and two half sisters. Vernon attended the Faith Baptist Church of Orono. He was a 50-year member in good standing of the IBEW L.U. 1253 Augusta. Vernon was the loving husband of the late Geneva Cain Nason. He is survived by his son, Mark C. Nason and daughter-in-law, Joanne L. (Flewelling) Nason of Orono; his grandchildren, Nancy and husband, Paul Skaling, Sharon and husband, the Rev. Gregory Jackson, Stephen and former wife, Kathe Nason, Sarah and husband, William Bell, Lisa and husband, Barry Phillips, Paul and wife, Michelle Nason; by his 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grand-children. He was predeceased by one great-grandchild. Calling hours will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, with a funeral service 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 160 Forest Ave., Orono, with the Rev. Gregory Jackson of the United Baptist Church, 63 Center Road, Easton, and Pastor David Natale of Faith Baptist Church, 160 Forest Ave., Orono, officiating.
