FORT KENT and NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Violet “Sis” Cyr, 58, of New Britain, died on Thursday, July 15, 2004, at New Britain General Hospital. Born May 31, 1946, in Eagle Lake, she was a daughter of the late Claude “Zibbie” Cyr and Mildred “Millie” (Violette) Cyr. She was raised in Fort Kent, but resided in the New Britain, Conn., area for the past 40 years. She leaves a brother, Greg Cyr of Ashburn, Va.; her estranged son, Wayne Babin; a granddaughter, Tabatha Babin; and her former husbands, Dana Babin and Walter Prestash. A combined memorial Mass for Violet and her mother, Mildred, who died on June 23, 2004, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at St. Louis Church in Fort Kent, followed by burial in St. Louis Parish Cemetery.
