MONSON – Vivian L. Turner, 88, died Nov. 18, 2006, at a Greenville hospital. She was born March 17, 1918, in Monson, a daughter of Frederick and Maud (Bruce) Stanchfield. She graduated from Monson Academy, Class of 1937, and married Clarence V. Turner. He predeceased her May 16, 1995. Vivian was a member of the Monson Women’s Club, the Sunshine Club, and was an honorary member of the Big Pine Gun Club. She is survived by three sons, Frederick W. and wife, Prudy Turner, of Willimantic, Brian L. and wife, Cindy Turner, of Monson and Neil A. Turner and companion, Mary King, of Guilford; grandchildren, Angela Pushard, Matthew, Amy, James and Allison Turner and Sara-Mae Burke; great-grandchildren, Tad, Nathan, Bailey, Miranda and Jacob Turner and soon to be baby Burke; a nephew, Lamont Stanchfield; a niece, Doris Clukey; and a cousin, Robert Brown. In addition to her husband, Vivian was also predeceased by brothers, Carlton, Norman, Milton, Gerald and Sheldon Stanchfield. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, with Pastor Peter Buchanan officiating.
