BAR HARBOR – Warren Everett Davis, 76, died peacefully Feb. 12, 2007, surrounded by his family at home, 9 Mountain Ave. Warren was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Hancock, the son of Alfred and Gladys (Martin) Davis. Warren graduated from Ellsworth High School, entered the Navy and completed his education in communications. He served in the Korean War and joined the New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. upon discharge. Warren worked for New England Telephone for 39 years and worked on many new communication systems during his career. Warren was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers, a 50-year member of the Lygonia Masonic Lodge, and a lifelong member of St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church, where he served in numerous capacities. Warren was a longtime member of the Kebo Valley Club, served two terms as president of the Eastern Maine Senior Golf Association, served as a board member for the Ledgelawn Cemetery Association, coached Little League, and was engaged in numerous volunteer activities in service to the Mount Desert Island community. Warren is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eva; his daughters, Patricia A. Crocker and her husband, Kevin, of Lincoln, Jean M. Davis of Des Moines, Iowa, and Nancy Davis Griffin and her husband, Glenn, of Deny, N.H.; his brother, Alfred Davis Jr. of Enfield, Conn.; his grandson, Matthew D. Fish of Augusta; granddaughter, Sara E. D. Griffin of Deny, N.H.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Roland M. Davis. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. Saviour’s Church, Mount Desert Street, Bar Harbor.
