SEDGWICK – Wayne A. Carter, 69, died Jan. 22, 2008, surrounded by his wife and a few close friends, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1938, in Castine, the son of Fred and Marguerite (Gray) Carter-Webster. For the last 35-40 years, Wayne owned and operated Wayne’s Garage & Transportation, Sedgwick, part of which was a school bus service for Sedgwick, Brooklin and George Stevens Academy, extra curriculum. During that time he also enjoyed driving his dump truck for local contractors and ran a small garage business. Early in his life, Wayne fulfilled his military service in the Army working in the motor pool. He is survived by his wife, Eyleen Sivigny of Sedgwick; sister-in-law, Audrey Carter of Blue Hill; nephew, Edward Carter and wife, Darlene, and their three children of Sedgwick; nieces, Mary Eaton and husband, Chandler, and their daughter of Deer Isle, Teresa Carter and her three sons of Blue Hill. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Raymond E. Carter. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sedgwick.
