NEWPORT – Wayne M. Brewer, 59, died unexpectedly March 19, 2006, at his residence. He was born June 11, 1946, at Bangor, the son of Frederick and Gretchen (Lovley) Brewer. Wayne graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Class of 1964 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Meridien Splendor Lodge No. 306 AF & AM. At the time of his death, he had been employed at Bud’s Shop N Save in Newport for the past 19 years. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and making canoes. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sally (McGinnis) Brewer; a son, Wade and wife, Jennifer Brewer, all of Newport; a daughter, De-De Brewer and fiance, Ryan Polley, of Sanford; a sister, Myrna Davis of Bangor; four grandchildren, Kaitlin and Lauren Brewer and Ryan and Celso Polley; a great-granddaughter, Lillian Brewer; a niece, Shanika Davis; and nephew, Gyasi Davis. He was predeceased by a grandson, Craig A. Brewer Jan. 29, 2006. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport.
