BLAINE – William “Bill” Larrabee, 71, went to be with the Lord, Jan. 22, 2008, surrounded by his family, at a Mars Hill health care facility, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 14, 1936, in Blaine, to the late William and Elizabeth (Beals) Larrabee. He attended ACI School, met his wife of 50 years, Annie Marie Tapley and was united in marriage Oct. 24, 1957, in Bridgewater. He began his career working on Pat Shaw’s farm and loved it. Later, in 1972, Bill went to work for Coca Cola Bottling Co., as a mechanic, and stayed there until he retired, and then even after retiring went back to work for Coke working one day a week doing whatever was needed of him until his illness. He loved all his friends at work. Throughout Bill’s life, he loved hunting, fishing, and most of all he loved his family and his camp at No. 9 Lake. Bill was a very loving and kind man to everyone. In addition to his loving wife, Annie, he is survived by his daughters, Linda and her husband, Rodney Jones, of Fort Fairfield, Lorrie Donahue, Lisa Larrabee, Billie Edmunds and her friend, Dale Madore, all of Presque Isle; a son, Todd Larrabee and his friend, Bert, of Limington; five grandchildren, Jimmy and Joey Donahue, Jessica and Sarah Jones, and Kacie Edmunds; one great-grandchild, Gage Helstrom; two sisters, Phyllis Morrison of Blaine, and Alice Dempster and her husband, Ken, of Caribou; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Rick Larrabee; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Priscilla; and an infant son, Wayne Eugene. The family thanks all of the staff at The Aroostook Medical Center, Mars Hill Healthcare facility, Hospice, and all our family and friends for their loving care, help and support through this time. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Free Baptist Church, Blaine, with the Rev. Gardner Smith officiating. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, and noon Saturday until time of service at the church.
