HALLANDALE, Fla., and BANGOR – William Edgar Kamber, 90, died Dec. 24, 2007, at a Florida hospital. He was born April 19, 1917, in Portland, the son of Bernard and Ida (Briggs) Kamber. William served his country during World War II in a medical infantry unit. He was a podiatrist and practiced most of his life in Portland and in Bangor. William enjoyed playing golf, especially during his retirement in Florida. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 37 years, Helen Kamber in 2003; and by a daughter, Randie Lamson. He is survived by a granddaughter, Jamie Lamson of Miami; a son-in-law, Stephen Lamson of Bangor; and many friends. A graveside funeral service will be held noon Sunday, Dec. 30, at Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor, with Rabbi Fred Nebel officiating.
