PROSPECT – William “Mark” Helbig, 48, died March 9, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 28, 1956, in Castine, the son of William and Eleanor (Davenport) Helbig. Mark was an avid Yankee baseball fan. He also loved music and listening to the top 40 every Sunday and was a very caring, loving and thoughtful person. He is survived by two brothers, Gene Sweet of Orland, and Stephen Helbig of Prospect; three sisters, Joy Reed, Leila Seavey, both of Newport, Glenice Tozier of East Newport; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents; he was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Sweet. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
