WESTFIELD – Marie E. Parks, 65, died Oct. 4, 2008, surrounded by her loving family and cats, at her home. She was born June 27, 1943, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Gordon “Mike” and Marie (Mosher) Lewin. In addition to her family, her proudest accomplishment was her graduation from certified nurses’ aide school in 1991. She worked at Presque Isle and Mars Hill nursing homes, but her most loved job was the years she worked as a home care provider. Surviving her are her husband of 27 years, Stephen L. Parks; three children from her previous marriage to Clyde “Charlie” Brown, daughters, Sue Skidgell and her husband, Geoff, of Mapleton, Christine Guimond and her husband, Zenon Jr., of Rockland and a son, Philip Brown and his wife, Sandy, of Mapleton; four grandchildren, Erica, Ryan, Brittney and Amy; sisters, Linda Argraves and her husband, Gene, of Connecticut and Marion Brown of Kittery; brothers, Michael Lewin and his wife, Rita, of Chapman and Clifton Lewin and his wife, Gwen, of Freedom; sisters-in-law, Loretta Lewin of South Dakota and Luann (Curtis) Varney of Marne, New Brunswick; many much loved, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Anna B., Bob, Penny, Amelia and Julie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Roberta Long; a brother, George Lewin; and her beloved dog, Zack. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Mapleton United Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Phelps officiating.
