PATRICK BENJAMIN WOODWARD – BUCKSPORT – Patrick Benjamin Woodward, beloved son, “wild child extraordinaire,” avid outdoorsman and devoted Red Sox fan, departed this Earth unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2008. He was born July 20, 1978, in Bangor, to Brenda and the late Scott Woodward. Patrick attended school at Penobscot Elementary and Bucksport High School, graduating in 1996. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force right out of high school and traveled to many extensive places throughout the world as he served his country. He was discharged from the Air Force in May 2008 and had recently returned to his family home in Bucksport to begin the next adventure. He was predeceased by his father, Scott Woodward of Bucksport; also grandparents, Homer and Elene Woodward of Newport, and David Gray and Edna Gray of Bangor. Surviving are his mother, Brenda Gray Woodward of Bucksport; sisters, Alison Hill and husband, Eli Hill, of Limerick and Emily Woodward of Portland; brother, Ryan Woodward of Bucksport; his incredible uncle, David Gray of Penobscot, who provided many wonderful years of fun filled childhood memories for Patrick and his brother and sisters to enjoy; and many cherished friends along the way. There are no words for the depth of our sorrow and how empty our lives will be without our warrior to protect us. Until we meet again, Patrick Benjamin, may you finally find peace. Funeral services will be held 5-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. Visiting hours will be held 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on behalf of Patrick to Bucksport Community Concerns, P.O. Box 603, Bucksport, ME 04416.
