MADAWASKA – Clarence P. Albert, 82, died Oct. 23, 2008, at a Van Buren health care facility. He was born Dec. 21, 1925, in St. Agatha, the son of Patrick and Edith (Chasse) Albert. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family. Clarence was a local meat cutter and businessman since 1951. He was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in northern Maine. He was also a third degree Knights of Columbus, Lions Club member and charter member of Business Man’s Bowling League. He enjoyed his weekends off at his Long Lake cottage in the summer months and especially during the winter months. Clarence is survived by three sons, Roger C. Albert and his wife, Jacqueline, Ronald Albert and his wife, Carol, and Philip Albert, all of Madawaska; one daughter, Claire Large and her husband, Lenard, also of Madawaska; two brothers, Lewis Albert of Virginia and Joseph Albert of Sanford; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Frenande (Morin) Albert; his brothers, Walter, Dr. Sinai Paul, Alberie, Henry, Richard, Eddie and Paul Emile; and two sisters, Rose and Aline. A funeral service will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Friends and family may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
