PENOBSCOT – Henry E. Montgomery, 76, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at a Penobscot nursing facility. He was born July 3, 1932, in Penobscot, the son of Vernon and Lena (Pickering) Montgomery. Henry attended Penobscot schools and served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by one sister, Eva Colson and her husband, Edward, of Penobscot; nephews, Timothy Leach and Richard Leach of Penobscot, Jeffrey Leach of Thorndike, Paul Leach of Penobscot and James Montgomery of Ellsworth; two nieces, Dianne B. Mead and her husband, Murray, of Bayfield, Colo., and Elizabeth Colson-Torrey of Penobscot; one stepdaughter, Tammy Powers of Stonington; stepnieces, Dianna Deans, with whom he worked for several years in Castine, and Kathy Pomeroy; one stepnephew, Warren Deans, all of Orland; one aunt and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his wife, Donna (Hutchins) Montgomery; one brother, John; and two nephews, Delbert Leach and Harold Montgomery. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Hillside Cemetery, corner of Route 199 and Route 15, Penobscot, with the Rev. Susan Young officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
