ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla., and GREENVILLE – Arthur L. Dean, 91, passed away Nov. 3, 2008. He was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Greenville, to Ernest Linwood and Delia (Snowdale) Dean. While in Maine he owned and operated a lumber/hardware retail business and after his retirement in 1992 he moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. He was a 60-year member of American Legion Cecil Cole Post, Green-ville, and active friend of Bill W. since 1959. He graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1934. He was an avid sportsman and fly-fisherman. He loved his trout pond fishing camp on Moosehead Lake. He served in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. Mr. Dean is survived by son, Arthur G.O. Dean of Zephyrhills, Fla.; daughter, Alice Dejadon of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Sarah Fahey of Kennebunk. He was predeceased by wife, Eleanor Green Dean; brothers, Elwin and Paul; and sisters, Marion Pulverente, Mildred Roberts, Faye Gregon and Delia Dean. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Whitfield Funeral Home, 5008 Gall Blvd., Zephyrhills, Fla., where visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Interment will be held in summer 2009 in Greenville.
