HAMPDEN and TRENTON Pauline Snowman, 83, died Nov. 7, 2008, at a Hampden health care facility. She was born Jan. 19, 1925, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Paul and Rose B. (Salisbury) Russell. Pauline was the tax collector for the town of Bar Harbor for 23 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her trips overseas with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a member of Hulls Cove Episcopal Church, Jesup Memorial Library, Literary Club and Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a fund raiser for the Arthritis Foundation. She is survived by two sons, Scott of Trenton and Douglas of Utah; daughter-in-law, Correnia of Eddington; grandchildren, Jasmyn of Trenton and Christopher of Florida; special cousin, Virginia Gray of Hancock; and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband, Sewell Snowman in 2007. A graveside service at Hillside Cemetery, Hulls Cove, will be announced in the spring.
