COLUMBIA FALLS – Roger “Charlie” Poirier, 46, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at home, after an unfortunate accident. He was born June 13, 1962, in Bangor, the son of the late Barbara E. Fickett, and grandson of the late Estelle and Roger Fickett. Charlie graduated from Narraguagus High School and became employed in construction and excavation operating his grandfather, Roger Fickett’s Construction Co., Columbia Falls. He continued his career in construction throughout Maine, Massachusetts and points beyond. Charlie loved the outdoors, including kayaking, fishing, gardening and landscaping. He also enjoyed taking care of Mother Nature’s creatures. Charlie was an avid sports fan with his favorite team being the Boston Red Sox. Family members include siblings, Paula Smith and husband, Steve, and Richard Poirier and his wife, Debbie, both of Columbia Falls; nephews, his little buddy Brandon Smith, and Colby Poirier; and a niece, Lindsay Poirier, all of Columbia Falls. He will be sadly missed by special friends, Cecil Gray, Theresa Dempsey, Cecil and Eunice Rockwell, Charles Kelley and Tex Cirone. He was predeceased by his beloved animals, Bandit and Blackie. Relatives and friends are invited to a time of fellowship 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Main Street, Milbridge. Charlie will be buried privately at Columbia Cemetery, Columbia, with his canine companion, Bandit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ark Animal Shelter, P.O.
