DEXTER – Loren T. Clukey, 87, died Dec. 4, 2008, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born July 28, 1921, in Dexter, the son of Joseph and Violet (Goulette) Clukey. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Poulliot-Seavey American Legion, and the VFW in Dexter. After the war he worked for Fayscott Landis, Dexter, for 37 years. He was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, and was a member of Knights of Columbus. After retiring he worked part time for Bud’s Shop n’ Save and in his spare time became an avid golfer. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Lessard) Clukey; a daughter, Liane Susan Clukey; a brother, Clatus Clukey; six sisters, Adrian Ambrose, Matilda Chabot, Leatrice Poirier, Laurette Dyer, Lunette Robichaud and Faustina Lessard. He is survived by a daughter, Judith Clukey of Fairfield; a special grandson, Keith T. Peavey of Fairfield; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bisson of Skowhegan; many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Mark Nolette. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
