JONESPORT – With deep sorrow and heavy hearts our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Bernice E. Randall, 93, at the home of her daughter in Westminster, Calif., Dec. 11, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Randall; her son, Whitney Randall; and grandson, Mark Randall. She is survived by sons, Richard Randall and wife, Jeanette, of Saint Cloud, Fla., Ronald Randall and companion, Norma Faulkingham, of Jonesport; daughter, Sherry See and husband, Ronald, of Westminster, Calif.; and daughter-in-law, Joan Dunton of Lewiston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas Toland, Tina LaRocca, Michael Randall, Jeffrey Randall, Christopher Randall, Kara Randall, Tonya Callie, Linda Wallace, Cheryl Greiling, Richard Randall Jr., Elizabeth Goodrow and Brian See; 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law. Bernice was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Dandridge, Tenn., and grew up in Macon, Ga. She moved to Jonesport and married Arnold in 1939. She and Arnold made their home in Jonesport until 1953. She moved to Westerly, R.I., in 1953 and lived there until Arnold retired in 1980, when they moved back to Jonesport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the most important part of her life and she was always there to give advice or just listen if you needed to talk. She was an independent woman who lived on her own for 24 years after her husband passed. She had strength and determination that kept her young all of her life. She has shown her family life should be lived with love, respect and forgiveness for each other. She was the anchor of our family and will be missed more than words could ever say. In her words, she had a good life. She had many wonderful experiences in her 93 years. She had a dream to go to Hawaii and saw that dream come true at the age of 71. She met President Franklin Roosevelt as a young girl. She went to the Kentucky Derby, visited the Grand Ole Opry and traveled to many other places with her father and mother. She enjoyed golfing with her friends when living in Westerly, and enjoyed Beano with family and friends when she moved back to Jonesport. She was an avid Boston Celtic and Red Sox fan and watched as many games as possible. She loved her cats. Mom you will forever be in our hearts. We are all so very grateful to have had you as our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will all miss you and we all love you very much. A funeral service will be held noon Thursday, Dec. 18, at Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, Jonesport, officiated by Pastor George Woodward. Friends are invited to visit with the family 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be afterward at Church Hill Cemetery, Addison. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge. www.bragdonkelley.com
