CORINNA – Michael L. Cyr, 68, died Dec. 18, 2008, at a Dexter nursing home. He was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Exeter, a son of Lewis and Annie (Grindell) Cyr. He served four tours in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Corinna Post No. 73 American Legion and Corundel Raiders Snowmobile Club. Michael is survived by his wife of 37 years, Julia (Young) Cyr of Corinna; two daughters, Cathy-Jo and husband, Matthew Mottram, of Meriden, Conn., and Leilani and husband, Damien Pickel, of Dexter; a brother, Dana and wife, Alicia Freese, of Newport; two sisters, Charlotte and husband, Orlo Nye, of Corinna and Jane Schissler of Newport; and five grandchildren, Zachary, Bryce and Jacob Mottram, Madisen and Alaena Pickel. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with Corinna American Legion officiating. Burial will be at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corinna American Legion, P.O. Box 1, Corinna, ME 04928.
