ORRINGTON – David L. Tourtillotte, 63, died Jan. 29, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, at his home. He was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Bangor, the son of Melvin and Phyllis (Morse) Tourtillotte. David graduated from Brewer High School and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and owned his own heating business. David served in the Maine National Guard and was a volunteer firefighter for Orrington Fire Department. He was very proud to be part of a humanitarian team to build a hospital in Nicaragua. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Whitney) Tourtillotte; two sons, Erik Tourtillotte and his wife, Shellie, and Jason Tourtillotte, all of Orrington; his daughter, Tanya and her husband, Christopher Vidas, of Hampden; one brother, Lewis Tourtillotte and his wife, Dee, of Eddington; one sister, Mary Hatt of Brewer; three grandchildren, Colin, Logan and Gavin; several nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Brian Haggerty, pastor of Neighborhood Church, Bangor, officiating.
