SULLIVAN – Wayne L. Milne Jr., 67, died Feb. 4, 2009, at an Ellsworth hospital. He was born Aug. 29, 1941, in Sullivan, son of Wayne L. and Glendora B. (Cunningham) Milne Sr. Wayne had been working for the past 10 years at Ray Plumbing & Heating Co. Prior to that, he was self-employed as a liquefied petroleum gas and oil service person. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a 50-year member of Sullivan Fire Department and also was a member of Hancock County Fire Association. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Marie (Griffin) Milne; son, Wayne L. Milne III and wife, Teodora, of Bar Harbor; a daughter, Lindsey M. Milne of Portland; and a sister, Margaret Spear and husband, Oliver Jr., of Town Hill and their family. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb.7, at Sullivan and Sorrento Recreation Center, 1776 U.S. Highway 1, Sullivan, with Pastor Dan Quinlan presiding.
