HAMPDEN and BANGOR – Lawrence Raymond Stearns, 82, passed away peacefully Feb. 17, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. Lawrence was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Dorchester, Mass., to the late Charles F. and Affa E. (Frisbee) Stearns. Lawrence served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He then worked for 30 years at Crimson Camera Tech as a van driver. He enjoyed collecting toy trains and Mickey Mouse memorabilia. Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Ann of Bangor; his sisters-in-law, Rosemary Bowler and Frances Johnson; as well as a niece, Lisa Johnson, all of Fort Myers Beach, Fla. Lawrence’s family thanks the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor, for the exceptional care he received during his illness. Funeral services for Lawrence will be private.
