DIXMONT – Richard Bert Kimball, 51, died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1957, in Waterville, son of Delwin and Barbara (Braley) Kimball. He was educated in Etna and Dixmont schools and attended Hermon High School. Richard was employed as a construction worker at paper mills throughout the state. He was a member of Construction Labor Union Local No. 1377, later known as Local No. 327. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and camping. Richard is survived by his wife of 23 years, Linda (Mushrow) Kimball of Dixmont; his four children, Zita Prescott and her husband, Wayne, of Corinna, Carlos Maloon and his significant other, Shelby, of Dexter, Erin Hand and significant other, Devin, of Bangor and Jeff Hand and his wife, Shandi, of Carmel; three grand-children, Nate, Gauge and Gwen; seven brothers and sisters, Deborah Kimball of Palmyra, Victor Kimball and his significant other, Patty, of Harmony, Anthony Kimball and his wife, Wanda, of Zephyrhills, Fla., Kelly and her husband, Dwayne Raymond, of Palmyra, Robin and her husband, Steve Killam, of Clinton, Lisa and her husband, Randy Ballard, of Hartland and Betty Jo and her husband, Arthur Nickerson, of Corinna; several nieces and nephews. Richard will also be remembered by special friends, Marc and Florice Willey of Carmel; and his two pug dogs, Spice and Angel. In addition to his parents, Delwin and Barbara Kimball, he was predeceased by a son, Richard “Ricky” Kimball Maloon. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, with the Rev. Tammy Noyes officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hartland.
