HAMMOND – Iris Mary McIver, 81, went to be with her Lord March 14, 2009, at her home. She was born April 19, 1927, in Houlton, the daughter of Raymond and Lottie (Niles) McLean. She had worked at Houlton Regional Hospital, the local dry cleaners and at various other jobs. She is survived by one son, Ted and his wife, Trena McAfee, of Hammond; three daughters, Barb and her husband, Carl Oliver, of Cary, Pam and her husband, Tom McCue, and Annett and her husband, Arthur Wilson, all of Michigan; 18 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd McLean of Connecticut and Gary McLean of Hammond; six sisters, Doris Ingraham of Hammond, Lois Sylvia of Hodgdon, Joan Osowiecki of Mordela Springs, Md., Marjorie Grant of Medway, Linda Paradis of Richmond, N.C., and Paulette Billings of Bridgewater; one special cousin, Mrs. Roy “Newty” Chambers of Rockland; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gene; her daughter, Vickie Fredericks; and one brother, Fred McLean. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Houlton, with Father Dave Raymond, celebrant. Spring interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
