FORT KENT – Edmay “Blackie” V. Charette, 83, wife of the late Arthur Charette, died March 11, 2009, at a Frenchville health care facility. She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Fort Kent, the daughter of George and Annie (Long) Voisine. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Leonette Voisine of Wallagrass, Maria Daigle of Methnon, Mass., and Verna Holt of Clueston, Fla., Sister Rena Charette of Bay St. Paul Quebec and Lena Pelletier of Waterbury, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur in 1998; one sister, Emily Dubois; and eight brothers, Theodule, Ned, Edwin, Phel, Percy, Lucien, Joey and Edgar Voisine. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no viewing. Family and friends are asked to attend a Mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be at the parish cemetery. Arrangements are being conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
