EXETER – Virginia M. (Day) Laasch, 65, past away unexpectedly Thursday, March 19, 2009. She was born Feb. 16, 1944, in Bangor, to Charles and Pricilla (Buzzel) Day. Virginia was a very creative woman and excelled at sewing, crafts, cooking and with designing her own patterns. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all who knew her. Virginia is survived by her four children, John Laasch of Exeter, David and his wife, Violet Laasch of Bucksport, Diane and her husband, Richard Beaulieu, of Falmouth and Laura and her husband, Richard Sincerbouch, of Fayette, N.C.; a very, very special granddaughter, who was more than a granddaughter, Miranda Laasch Cote and fiance, Jerod Childs, of Falmouth; grandchildren, Kayla McKenley and Alex McKenley of Vermont, Anna Sincerbouch and Matthew Sincerbouch of North Carolina, Tyler McKenna of Massachusetts, Shannon and her husband, Joe Morretto, of Glenburn, Felicia and her fiance, Brad Eslin, of Brewer and Sarah and her fiance, John Southards, of Bangor; great-grandchildren, Rylee Ann Reed of Enfield, Kaylee Southards of Bangor, Gabriel Eslin of Brewer and Gavery Eslin due in May, also of Brewer; two brothers, Lewis Day of East Winn and James Day of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Pat and her husband, Ed Sorum, of Auburn and Anita McLearey of Washington; also many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her soul mate and loving husband of 35 years, John Laasch in 1994; and a sister, Patricia Day. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of chaplaincy services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating.
