LIMESTONE – Ethel Herring, 68, passed away Friday, March 20, 2009, at an Orono health care facility. She was born March 13, 1941, in Limestone, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Michaud) Obar Sr. Ethel was a graduate of Limestone High School and after her marriage became a homemaker. She was a communicant at St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone. She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Hopwood and her husband, Matt, of Eielson-Air Force Base, Alaska; a son, Clay Herring of Florida; and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Fred Obar Jr. and Lawrence Obar. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. Friends may call 2 p.m. until the time of service. A reception will be afterward onsite at the funeral reception hall. Interment will take place in the spring at St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone.
