ALGIERS, La. – Grace (McAnespy) Creath Hainer, 89, entered into eternal rest March 15, 2009, and reunited with her beloved husbands, Walter V. Creath, to whom she was married 32 years, and Gerald Butch Hainer, to whom she was married 31 years, both of whom predeceased her. Butch was born in Brewer and graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1953. Grace was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, and she will be dearly missed. She was a lifelong resident of Algiers, La. Grace personified her name; she lived her long life gracefully and was a shining example of compassion and kindness to her family and friends. Grace has a special place in our hearts, where she will remain forever. Grace is survived by her two sons, Hilliard Creath Sr. and Eric Creath and his wife, Kathy, all of Algiers, La.; two stepdaughters, Susan (Hainer) McCallum and her husband, John, of Hampden, and Theresa Hainer and her husband, Skip Howard, of Glenburn; three stepsons, Dana Hainer and his wife, Cheryl, of Southside, Ala., Mark Hainer and his wife, Marlene, of El Paso, Texas, and Andrew Hainer of Portland. She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Grace’s funeral was held March 18, 2009, at Mothe Funeral Home, Algiers, La. She was buried alongside Walter and Butch at McDonoghville Cemetery, Algiers, La.
