BANGOR and VEAZIE – Margaret Chaloux, 89, passed away peacefully May 11, 2009, at a Bangor health care center. She was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Bangor, daughter of William and Charlotte Maher. Margaret married Hubert Chaloux, in March 1939. They celebrated their 70th anniversary, March 11. Margaret and Hubert raised their family in Veazie where they lived for 50 years. Margaret worked very hard at her many homes in Veazie and enjoyed her flower gardens and loved to bake. She loved to be around people and made many friends easily. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Hubert of Bangor, are three daughters, Nancy Ellingsen of Old Town, Gloria Williams and her husband, Roger, of Glenburn, and Judith Struchtemeyer and her husband, Robert, of Locust Fork, Ala.; one son, William Chaloux of Glenburn; grandchildren, Jay Ellingsen and his wife, Jackie, of Glenburn, Kris Ellingsen and his wife, Stacey, of Yorktown, Va., Kevin Perrigo of Auburn, Roger Williams Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, of Hudson, Valerie Cote and her husband, Max, of Clinton, and Dena Roberson and her husband, David, of Boyce, La.; seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Dorr and Carlene Nason; and three brothers, William, Clarence and Lewis Howell. The family thanks the staff at Westgate Manor for their wonderful care and compassion. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1 p.m. until time of service Friday. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie.
