LINCOLN – Mary Catherine Hinse, 57, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 10, 2009, at her home. She was born Dec. 30, 1951, in Millinocket, the daughter of Carl and Gloria (Monaco) Hinse. Mary graduated from Stearns High School and then the University of Maine at Fort Kent with a degree in education. She taught English and math for many years at Mount Jefferson Junior High School, Lee. Mary earned a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of South Carolina. She was employed as the district librarian for SAD 67 at Mattanawcook Academy, Lincoln. She was also a member of Our Lady Circle No. 774 of Daughters of Isabella and served as treasurer. Mary had been a member of many Lincoln organizations, including Lincoln Memorial Library Advisory Board and Friends of the Library. Mary enjoyed golf, reading, attending Bangor Symphony Orchestra concerts, knitting, music, shopping, and being with her friends and family. Her big heart, sense of humor and willingness to do her share will be missed by many. Mary is survived by her father, Carl Hinse of Millinocket; her brother, Danny Hinse and his wife, Cathy; two nephews, Anthony Hinse and his spouse, Alisha and their daughter, Isabella Grace, and Christopher Hinse and fiancee, Erin Marcinkus; and a close friend, Regina, who has taken over the care of her beloved dog, Izzy. She will also be missed by her many co-workers, sister Daughters of Isabella, students and friends. Mary was predeceased by her mother, Gloria, in 1989. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7:30 p.m. conducted by Daughters of Isabella. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at St. Mary of Lourdes, 168 Main St., Lincoln. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
