PALMYRA and PITTSFIELD – Florence O. King, 84, died May 13, 2009, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Somerville, Mass., daughter of Dexter and Mabel (Day) Belgard. Florence was educated in Newport schools and was a graduate of Newport High School. She was married to John F. King, who predeceased her, May 23, 1984. Florence liked to read and was an avid reader of history and biographies. She enjoyed watching “her” Red Sox. She is survived by one son and his wife, John F. and Darlene King Jr. of Bedford Va.; one daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Allen LeFay of Palmyra; one brother, Warren Belgard of Wilsonville, Ala.; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 15, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport, where funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, with the Rev.
