MADAWASKA – Carol “Kiki” Martin, 53, died May 18, 2009, in Fort Kent, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kiki was born March 4, 1956, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Wilfrid and Electa (Daigle) Plourde. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella, both of Madawaska. She especially enjoyed being involved with the Knights of Columbus, where she made many friends throughout the years. Kiki is survived by her loving husband of almost 30 years, Gerald “Gerry” Martin of Madawaska; a daughter, Tina Martin; a son, Andrew Martin; her only grandson, Reece, who was “Memere’s Little Boy,” all of Madawaska; three brothers, Jim Plourde and his wife, Tia, of Madawaska, Jerry Plourde and his wife, Paullette, of Edmundston, and Eddie Plourde and his wife, Nicole, of Madawaska; two sisters, Phyllis Savoie and her husband, June, of Madawaska, and Angie Cyr and her husband, Jim, of Madawaska; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was looking forward to July, when all her family members will be gathering for a family reunion. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 22, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Friends and family may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday and noon until time of service Friday at Daigle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kiki’s memory may be made to Edgar J.
