BANGOR, Maine — Caden Buzzard, 7, of Bradford remained in critical condition Sunday evening, according to a nursing supervisor at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Caden is one of four children injured in Levant on Tuesday night when a minivan driven by his father, 30-year-old William Buzzard of Levant, was hit by a Jeep Lib-erty driven by Renee Kearns, 35, also of Levant. Buzzard had attempted to turn left onto Stetson Road from Route 222 when the minivan was hit.
Caden’s sister, 5-year-old Alyssa Buzzard, died of her injuries Thursday morning. His brother Jacoby, 1, suffered a broken bone and was treated at EMMC. He was released Saturday.
Benjamin Speed, 4, of Bradford also was hospitalized after the accident. He was discharged from EMMC on Sunday.
Off-duty Veazie firefighter Dennis Farnham Jr. came upon the accident shortly after it happened. On Saturday, Farnham, who had his own three young sons with him at the time, said all four children in the minivan had been appropriately buckled into the vehicle.
“I had to unbuckle them to get them out the windows,” he said.
