ASHLAND, Mass. – Frances (Anderson) Wood, 81, formerly of Bangor, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her in her home in Massachusetts, with her family at her bedside. Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband of 60 years, George E. Wood, also from Bangor. She was the beloved mother of George Jr. “Ged” of Wisconsin and Ruth Wood McPherson of Hudson; grandmother of five and great-grandmother of two. Mrs. Wood “Fran” was the fourth of 10 children born to George and Helen Anderson. She is survived by six siblings, Clifford of Arizona, Mildred Begin or Arizona, Ramona McPherson of Corinth, Victor of New York, Kathleen Crummey of Florida and Laura Harvey of Glenburn. She was predeceased by three brothers, George Jr. “Bud,” Wilbur and Forrest Anderson. At the family’s request, funeral services will be private.
