ENFIELD, Conn., and OLD TOWN – Annie Chandler (Buchanan) Boucher, 84, of Enfield, Conn., passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, at home comforted by her family. Born Aug. 1, 1924, in Brewer, son of the late Martin and Bernice (Hodgins) Buchanan. Annie proudly worked as a welder in the Bath shipyards during World War II. She has been a resident of Enfield, Conn., for more than 50 years and was a member of Enfield Senior Center. Annie was an avid swimmer and regularly swam with the seniors group in Enfield, Conn. She enjoyed reading, but mostly looked forward each week to attending local tag sales, hunting for paperweights and vintage costume jewelry. Annie was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald MacKenzie Boucher, in 1988; two sons, Lawrence and Edward Boucher; her brother, Martin Buchanan; and three sisters, Dorothy Douglas, Georgia Zelinski and Marie Foss. She is survived by three daughters, Martha “Marti” Brewczynski and her husband, Robert, of Mansfield, Conn., Donna M. Jacobs and her partner, Gene Breglia, of East Windsor, Conn., and Catherine Boucher of Payson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Sam Jacobs, Rebecca Jacobs and Amy Griego; and two sisters, Nancy Crawford and her husband, Robert, of Lucerne, and Jane King and her husband, Harvey, of Anderson, Ind.
