VEAZIE – G. Penney (Farrar) O’Halloran, 67, died June 25, 2009, in Bangor, with her children at her side, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born Aug. 3, 1941, in Hampden, the daughter of Gerald and Madeline (Lawrence) Farrar. Penney was a special Nana to many children whom she loved and cared for throughout the years. Surviving are one son, Robert O’Halloran and his wife, Sophie, and grandchildren, Max and Amelia, all of Atlanta; two daughters, Erin Whitehouse and her husband, Andy, and granddaughters, Keira and Megan, all of Bangor, and Holly Vetelino and her husband, Jay, and grandsons, Ben and Nick, all of Veazie. Penney also had a special “grandson,” Sammy. She is also survived by a sister, two brothers, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers. Penney’s family especially thanks Eastern Maine Medical Center oncology staff, including the wonderful women of palliative care; Kathryn in case management; Karen a charge nurse on Grant 6; Dr. Picone, Dr. Redding and Dr. Bianco; and the compassionate and kind, skilled nursing staff of Stillwater Health Care. A private graveside service at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, is planned for a later date.
