MASARDIS – JoAn J. (O’Clair) Beaulier, 61, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Mars Hill Nursing Home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. JoAn was born Sept. 6, 1947 in Ashland. Prior to her extended battle with cancer, JoAn lived and worked in Berlin, N.H., employed by Coos County Family Health Center where she was very highly regarded and well liked leaving behind many friends among her co-workers. JoAn was a member of the Eagles Club, Berlin, N.H., and a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 279, Concord, N.H., where she so enjoyed the time spent with fellow club members. JoAn’s passion in life was spending time with family and friends, she also had a passion for knitting, gardening, flowers, dogs and camping, spending many of her available days doing so with family and friends. JoAn is survived by her friend and companion, Harry C. Hafford of Masardis; a son, William Walton and wife, Pamela, of Tucson, Ariz.; by four brothers, Norman and his wife, Lydia, William Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Ashland, Hubert of Fork Union, Va., Armand and his wife, Janet, of Hermon; and four sisters, Yvonne “Marie” Gillespie of Horseshoe, N.C., Florence Kinney of Vandalia, Ill., Nancy Conley of Mills River, N.C., and Catherine Herson of Morrill. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ada “Babe” O’Clair of Ashland, Micheline O’Clair of Fayetteville, N.C., and Darla Benson of Portage Lake. JoAn will be fondly remembered by her granddaughters, Amanda and Victoria of Tucson, Ariz. She is also survived by 44 nieces and nephews, six aunts, two uncles and 74 cousins. JoAn was predeceased by a son, Jason Walton, her parents, William and Emelda O’Clair; four brothers, Frederick, Victor, Lawrence and Melvin “Paul;” and one sister, Geneva Mary. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, at Masardis Cemetery conducted by Patricia Rafford. Everyone is invited to attend a reception immediately after the service at the Masardis municipal building.
