BANGOR – On July 6, 2009, heaven received an angel, Hilda Jeanette Giddings, 98. She was born July 26, 1910, in Sherman Mills, the daughter of Wilmont and Etta (Stubbs) Dickinson. Hilda was an 81-year member of Eastern Star, Molunkus Valley Chapter No. 95, Sherman. She was the oldest member in her chapter having joined in September 1928 at age 18. She is survived by a son, Donald Giddings; a sister, Millie Lord; daughters-in-law, Rita Giddings and Doris Giddings; grandchildren, Karen and Rodney Davis, Dawn and Steve Call, Gary and Kathy Giddings, Ryne and Teresa Giddings, Harv and Lauren Giddings, Kelly and Ben Butler; great-grandchildren, Rachael and Scott Straub, and Robert Davis; and great-great-grandchildren, Grace Butler, Colby and Max Straub. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Lee Giddings; sons, Rodney and Harvey Giddings; sisters, Vivian, Vera and Eva; and a brother, Donald. The family thanks St. Joseph Hospice and Stillwater Healthcare for the loving care that Hilda received. Graveside funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
