DEXTER – Joyce K. Larrabee, 70, died July 14, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 24, 1939, in Ashville, N.C., daughter of Leonard and Ruth (Lockwood) Johnston. Joyce worked as a Tupperware manager for many years. She was an active member of Charleston Pentecostal Church, and spent 12 years in Nova Scotia working at Cape Breton Bible Camp along with her husband. She enjoyed reading, sewing and knitting, and was beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Carl S. Larrabee Sr. of Dexter; two sons, David Brumm of Pittsfield and Philip R. Batchelder and his wife, Viola, of Dover-Foxcroft; four daughters, Debra and her husband, Kevin Morrell, of New Hampshire, Kathi Snide of Vermont, Donna-Jo and her husband, John Maynard, of Charleston, and Gina Batchelder of Hartland; a sister, Donna and her husband, Fred Phillips, of Florida; a brother, Dr. Richard Lockwood of Washington state; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; four stepsons, Gilbert Larrabee of Washington state, Stan Larrabee and his wife, Aloyse, of Dexter, Mike Larrabee and his wife, Sally, of Dexter and Kevin Larrabee of North Carolina; many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Charleston Pentecostal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
