BANGOR – Grace Barbara Meehan, 87, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born July 2, 1922, in Millinocket, the daughter of Francis and Bambina (Mascetta) Pasquine. Grace was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1940. After graduation she worked in Connecticut during World War II. She worked in several office positions in Michigan, Vermont and Maine during her lifetime. Grace enjoyed gardening, crafts, reading, traveling and keeping herself active with many outdoor activities. She was a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, for many years. In her later years, Grace was very happy to spend her time with her two grandchildren, Nate and Willy. She was a lifelong Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching them everyday. Also, her love of her Italian heritage was expressed with her great Italian cooking, until her later years. She is survived by her son, William F. Meehan Sr. and his wife, Victoria Q. Meehan, of Bangor; her two beloved grandchildren, William F. Meehan Jr. and Nathaniel V. Meehan of Bangor; sister, Pauline George of Millinocket; special cousin, Norma Mascetta of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. Grace was predeceased by her husband, William L. Meehan; sisters, Angelina Viola and Helen McKinnon; and brothers, Nicholas, Peter and Frederick Pasquine. The family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their loving care and support for Grace and her family. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment will be after in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
