YONKERS, N.Y. – Mary Martha Maltese died July 30, 2009, at Hearth Stone Assisted Alzheimer’s Facility, White Plains, N.Y. She was born May 22, 1927, in Daigle, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Bourgoin. She was a longtime member of The Church of the Annunciation, Yonkers, N.Y. Mary was a supervisor for Visiting Nurses Service of New York City, until her retirement in 1985. Mary was a gifted singer and member of the choir at The Church of the Annunciation, where she was an active communicant until her illness overcame her. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband, Leonard . She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Leonard Maltese; Leonard’s sons, Leonard and his wife, Eileen and their children, Leonard, Michelle and Amanda, Mary’s goddaughter; and Robert and his wife, Anne Marie and their children, Lisa and Vincent; sisters, Theresa and husband, Randall Pinkham, and Jo and husband, Roy Siewert; nephews and nieces, Edward, Andrew, Laura, Connie and Carl. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Constance “Bo-Peep” and Bernice; brothers, Charles and Bernard “Ben”; and niece, Jennifer Pinkham. Mary will be sadly missed by her loving husband, family and friends. Special thanks to the staff of Hearth Stone Assisted Living for their attentive and compassionate care.
