CALAIS – E. Michael Tocchio, 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at Calais Regional Hospital. Michael was born March 31, 1916, in Quincy, Mass. After graduating from high school, he worked in the shipyards and joined the Army National Guard for several years. Michael eventually owned and operated his own construction company, building new homes and buildings. On Dec. 27, 1973, he married Patricia Hogue in St. Stephen and they soon relocated to the Calais area. Along with his wife, Michael owned and operated her family business, Pat’s Dairy Caf? on Whitney Street, Calais. He enjoyed reading, golfing and traveling. Surviving are his loving wife of more than 35 years, Patricia Tocchio; two children, Louis Tocchio and his wife, Sandra, of Hudson, Fla., and Judy Erikson and her husband, Russell, of Rockland, Mass.; a brother, Otto Tocchio and his wife, Marion, of Fresno, Calif.; two grandchildren, James Tocchio and his wife, Samantha, of Hoboken, N.J., and Susan Leonard and her husband, Kenneth, of Weymouth, Mass.; and two great-grandchildren, Meghan and Emily Leonard. Visiting hours will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception R.C.
