ST. ANN, Mo. – Eugene C. Hensler died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009. Mr. Hensler was a member of American Legion Post 213 Maryland Heights, a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, and a volunteer with Boy Scouts of America. He was the beloved husband of Esther C. (Vohsen) Hensler; dearest father of Ronald and his wife, Marilyn Hensler, Linda and her husband, Leo Martin, Kenneth and his wife, Dena Hensler, and Randy Hensler; dear grandfather of Stacy, Nikkie, Jason, Sandy, Andy and Megan; great-grandfather of Shalen, Gabbie, Maya, Toby, Lanie, Cayden, Ashton, Gavin and Mallory; dear brother of Dorothy, Kenny, Bob, Shirley, Frank Jr., Alice, Jane, Tom and the late Betty and Marion; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many. He spent his last days in the care of his loving family and the caring staff at Mark Twain Manor Nursing Home. Service noon Friday, Aug. 21, at Collier’s Funeral Home, 3400 North Lindbergh Blvd., Bridgeton, Mo., where visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday. A service by 10th District Guard of Honor Service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
