BREWER – Louise G. Farnham, 71, died Sept. 29, 2009, at her home. She was born July 16, 1938, in Bangor, the daughter of Ralph and Inez (Davies) Getchell. Louise graduated from Bangor High School and Farmington State Teachers College. She was one of the first teachers for Winnie the Pooh nursery school. Louise was a former member of the board of directors of Bangor YMCA, Eastern Maine Medical Center Auxiliary and Getchell Bros. Inc. She was involved with many Brewer school activities supporting athletic programs. Louise enjoyed gardening and times at her camp in Trenton watching the sunset over Union River Bay. She loved to cook and will be remembered for her incredible whoopie pies. Louise loved her dogs. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, and will be dearly missed. In addition to her mother of Brewer; she is survived by her sons, Doug Farnham and wife, Nichi, of Bangor, Don Farnham and wife, Karen, of Winterport and David Farnham of Rockland; a dear sister, Lauralee Sevigny and husband, Paul, of Holden; grandchildren, Scott, Carl, Gary, Andy and Ellie Inez Farnham; nieces, Kristi Kelshaw, Emily Brasslett and Amanda Pattanayak; Ellie’s sisters, Molly and Emma; and many friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn; and a brother, Thomas. Friends are invited to call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct 1, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, with the Rev.
