BANGOR and ROCHESTER, N.H. – June E. Glencross, 82, died peacefully Sept. 29, 2009, in Rochester, N.H., after a period of declining health. She was born April 4, 1927, in Machias, daughter of Leonard and Olevia (Beal) Elwell. June was a graduate of Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing and enjoyed caring for her family, playing cards, Bingo and knitting. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, James R. Glencross and her daughter, Mary (Glencross) Auger. She is survived by her son, Stephen Glencross and his wife, Sherry, of Orono; a daughter, Patricia (Glencross) Graf of Nashua, N.H.; a son-in-law, Philip Auger of Rochester, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Jessica Plummer of Eddington, Pvt. Jason Glencross, U.S. Army, of Fort Benning, Ga., Nicole M. Auger of Rochester, N.H., J’Hannah Glencross of Bar Harbor, Rachel Graf of Stowe, Vt., Kati Glencross of Orono and Daniel Graf of Nashua, N.H.; great-granddaughter, Trinity Glencross; brother-in-law, Bud Glencross and his wife, Ruth, of Pittsfield; a sister-in-law, Barbara McVety of Hallowell; several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, with the Rev. Roger Tracy, pastor of East Eddington Community Church, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
